Introduction
to your interactive Organizer (iO)

What is an iO?
An interactive website providing non-technical users with a powerful organizing and planning tool. iOs are designed to be set up and managed without the need for a webmaster, and to be simple enough for people familiar with email to quickly understand.

Your steward's responsibilities
Your steward is usually the person who sets up your iO. The web site is completely directed by you, the user, so it is important to establish your own rules for who can change your settings and access the information you add to your web pages.

All the entries in your iO are on a central host computer and can be seen in the same way by every member of your group from any computer connected to the internet

Your steward's first responsibility is decide if you need passwords (some smaller groups operate comfortably without them). For larger groups there is an increased risk of unexpected actions by new members –occasionally someone decides to delete all the iO's messages, thinking that they are clearing out their own email inbox. Also you may want protection against uninvited visitors, although in our experience this happens rarely, as your iO's address is unique, and not easily found.

Password Protection
Your Member and Visitor Passwords grant access to the pages that you choose to "protect" in your Settings. You can protect all the pages, including the Homepage, or any combination of pages. You can give out these passwords to some, or all, of the people you invite to visit your iO. You can even include these passwords in your Mail Notification message to remind people each time they receive a notification.

Your Steward Password (if you choose a different word from your Member and Visitor Passwords) restricts access to the Settings page and the ability to delete entries from any page your iO. Generally you will want just one person, your steward, to know this password. If anyone needs to have an entry deleted, they can email your steward with their request directly from the Protection pages.

Site Map and Help navigation

The Site Map link at the top of every page provides quick access to the five main pages (Messages, Addresses, Dates, Links and Topics) and to the supporting Documents, Styles and Settings pages.

Each main iO page has a Help at the top right corner describing how the features on that page work.

When you are ready for more information, visit the Help in Settings for a detailed description of all the options for customizing your iO to your group's needs
